A leading adolescent psychologist has issued a warning about how the celebrity status of a parent can negatively impact their children. 

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald on Monday, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg said there has been a surge in the number of  celebrity parents seeking mental health advice for their children- many of whom struggle to cope with living in the spotlight. 

According to Dr Carr-Gregg, celebrity children being bullied in the schoolyard, online or in the media is an 'ongoing issue'.
