House Rules contestant Mat has revealed that he was 'rushed to hospital' in an ambulance, after collapsing on the hit renovation show.

Mat, who is partnered with his brother, Tim, 32, on the series, told New Idea on Monday that he experienced a medical emergency shortly after he completed Pete and Courtney's backyard. 

The 27-year-old said the incident will be seen in an upcoming episode of the show and said: 'I was fine till about five minutes before it finished and I started to feel a bit woozy and get jelly legs and I thought, "Oh, I don't feel good here."

Mat explained he dramatically dropped to the ground as soon as the buzzer sounded.    

'My body just shut down on me and I struggled to breathe,' he told the publication.

He added: 'I got really hot and this horrible nauseous feeling came over me and I started to panic.'
