Willow Smith has revealed she would consider being in a polyamrous throuple relationship.

The actress and singer shared her feelings when on the Facebook series

on Monday with her mother Jada Pinkett Smith and her grandmother Adrienne Banfield Norri.

The 18-year-old I Am Legend actress said she became curious after following a polyamorous throuple on Instagram. She started researching the unconventional relationship and found she could see herself being in one.

While her mother was open to the idea and revealed an experience with multiple partners her grandmother was unsure of the topic.

In voice over the 18-year-old explained that polyamory is an 'open and honest' romantic relationship involving multiple people. A throuple is a romantic couple of three people and a form of polyamory. 

When it comes to the possibility of being in a throuple herself she said, 'I love men and women equally. I'd want one man, one woman.' 

'I feel like I could be polyfidelitous [in a committed relationship with multiple people] with those two people. I'm not the kind of person that is constantly looking for new sexual experiences.

'I focus a lot on the emotional connection and I feel like if I were to find two people of the different genders that I really connected with and we had a romantic and sexual connection, I don't feel like I would feel the need to try to go find more.'

Her Gammy, 65, said, 'I would not be excited about that. It doesn't sit well with me, I don't understand this emotional commitment.' 

She felt that polyamory was more about the partners wanting to fulfill more sexual experiences. After sitting down with the throuple the matriarch understood more about the non-sexual dynamics in the relationship, though she still would never consider it for herself. 

Jada, 47, had no problem with Willow's words, saying, 'Whatever makes you happy.' She continued, 'I always tell her, never be afraid. You have to live who you're not to know who you are.'

The hosts each explained their own views on monogamy and alternative relationships.

For the youngest Smith child she revealed that to her, monogamy is stifling and comes from a history of insecurity and ownership.
