Following the success of his warmly received adaptation of Joseph Heller's Catch-22 for Hulu, George Clooney has signed a deal with another streaming platform, Netflix.
The actor, director and producer is set to helm a movie version of bestseller Good Morning, Midnight and will also star in the sci-fi thriller.
The as-yet untitled film will begin production in October, Variety reported Monday.

Clooney will play a lonely Arctic scientist called Augustine who tries to make contact with an astronaut on board a spacecraft trying to return home in the post-apocalyptic tale.
The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith is adapting the Lily Brooks-Dalton novel and Clooney is producing the project with his Smokehouse Pictures partner Grant Heslov.
