He may be blessed with incredible vocal talents, but Guy Sebastian says his physical appearance almost prevented him from making it big as a musician.   

In a shocking confession on Monday night's episode of The Voice, the 37-year-old candidly revealed he was once told he was 'too fat' to make it as a singer.

Speaking to contestant Diana Rouvas, the father-of-two confessed: 'I quit my uni degree and... I recorded demos and I went to labels and they told me I was too fat.' 

'They told me I didn't have the look. I was a weird looking dude with an afro, like fair enough!' he added. 

Having forged a lucrative career since the initial setback, Guy imparted some sage words of advice upon aspiring star Diana.
