Dakota Johnson is back in the saddle with her new film Covers.

The Fifty Shades of Grey actress was spotted Monday on the Beverly Hills set with co-star Tracee Ellis Ross.

Johnson channeled the spirit of Janis Joplin in a brown suede fringe jacket and jeans with some metal framed shades.

Ross was also onset, channeling more of her mother Diana Ross in a billowy red jumpsuit.  

On Sunday, Johnson, 29, was seen laughing with Ross, 46, as they sat in a very splashy sports car mounted on a flatbed trailer.

Not much is known about the movie which also stars Ice Cube, but according to its IMDb page, it's 'a love story set in the Los Angeles music industry.' 

Both actresses wore sunglasses and the scene was set up to appear as if they were driving along Sunset Boulevard.

It was first reported in Britain's The Sun newspaper last week that Johnson and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, 32, had called it quits after almost two years together.

The former couple, who at one time was rumored to be altar bound, apparently broke up over differences about having children together.
