Sophie Prescott claims she DOESN'T think Amanda Holden should be sacked

This Morning presenter Sophie Prescott, who claimed Amanda Holden should be sacked following her spat with Phillip Schofield, has completed a shock U-turn.

The guest host previously accused Amanda of being 'controlling, selfish and difficult', as she recounted her experience of the star from when they appeared on TV together in October 2018.

However Sophie has now denied making the comments in the first place, as she took to her Instagram story and attempted to clear up the confusion.

Sophie, who has presented 24 segments on the show, penned: 'You may have seen some words in the press from me today and it's not true. I didn't speak those words, so please do not believe them.'

However just days ago Sophie appeared to tell the Daily Mirror: 'Amanda was all "me, me, me". I put on a brave happy face doing the show but Amanda was very off-putting during my live appearance, kept asking questions, kept interfering and I felt she was a very controlling person.'

But the craft enthusiast now insists that she was not the one to make those claims about Amanda, as she encouraged her followers not to believe it.

Amanda is said to have blamed Phillip for standing in the way of her getting the gig on This Morning when Holly Willoughby, 38, went to Australia to host I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in the absence of Ant McPartlin, 43.

Sophie's previous statement continued: 'Amanda is being thoroughly unprofessional in her behaviour to a fellow ITV family member...

'Who does Amanda think she is, marching into Kevin Lygo's office demanding answers on what she alleges that is supposed to have happened? Amanda should be "yellow-carded" and told to shut up or face getting the sack from Britain's Got Talent.'

This comes days after Phillip admitted he had a 'sad weekend' following the 'hurtful' reports of the feud with Amanda.

He posted on Sunday: 'The end of another really sad weekend. When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless "sources".'

'Obviously I’ll take it on the chin. I just hope you know me better [sic].'

However Amanda appeared to want to bury the hatchet, as she was spotted holding up a peace symbol with her hand on Tuesday morning.

On Monday's edition of Amanda's Heart radio show, the former actress, revealed she tried to go for a coffee with the This Morning host, 57, in attempt to bury the hatchet, but he declined her invitation.

Speaking to her co-host Jamie Theakston, Amanda said: 'I've moved on from it, Jamie, you need to move on from it.'

He replied: 'You might have moved on but I just wanted to know, is there any more to the story?'

Confirming the feud rumours, Amanda added: 'I did offer to meet him for a coffee months ago, he didn't reply to my text. What can I say?'

Jamie noted: 'The olive branch had been extended.'

Jamie then paid reference to Katy Perry and Taylor Swift's highly-publicised feud, which was officially put to bed with the release of Taylor's new You Need To Calm Down music video.

He joked: 'In a kind of Katy Perry/ Taylor Swift moment, will there maybe be a burger and fries moment for you guys?'

To which Amanda responded: 'I doubt it, I'm a vegetarian, Jamie.'
