Cheryl has been working tirelessly to promote her newest single Let You following its release last month, and has gone onto insist that the tune is not about her ex Liam Payne, 25. Instead, Cheryl wanted to write a song to empower everyone, especially women, with 'mature storytelling'. Speaking exclusively to MailOnline about the lyrics, she said: 'For some reason, sometimes as women we allow a lot of bad behaviour and then we wonder why they treat us badly… it’s about setting boundaries and being like that’s not OK.' She added: 'It was really like, I'm mature enough to say it was my fault, I let you treat me that way. 'I only let you treat me that way because I let you and the video represents that as well, a girl, me, living in an apartment and then feeling empowered when I leave, dancing with my friends in the street, as you do!' Talking about the inspiration behind the track, she added: 'I was writing the song with Nicola and a friend of ours, and the friend of ours was up to here going through stuff with men.'
