It was a nail-biting season seven finale of popular prison series Wentworth on Tuesday night.
Fans of the Logie-winning Foxtel drama were left stunned after an action-packed episode culminated in an unexpected twist.
The shocking return of Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson, who was believed to be dead for two seasons when she was buried alive, ended the final episode.

The last time The Freak was seen alive was when she was trapped in a box as Will Jackson buried her in a grave at the end of season five.
In season six, she appeared as hallucinations to a guilt-ridden Will, which prompted him to dig up her grave - only to discover a decomposing body.
But the final scene of season seven showed The Freak was actually alive and well, but laying low as she huddled around a fire plotting her revenge.
Pamela Rabe, who plays The Freak, will fully return in character during the eighth season of the hit series.
