Things are getting extremely ugly between Tamra Judge's son Ryan Vieth and his ex-girlfriend Sarah Rodriguez, who he was accused of threatening over text earlier this week.

So much so, that the 51-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County stepped in amid a nasty stand-off between the former couple on Friday, concerning their daughter Ava, which was played out on social media.

Sarah refused to hand the girl over on Ryan's assigned pick-up day, accusing him of making suicidal threats.

In a now-deleted Instagram post Sarah claimed Tamra came to her home and recorded her without her knowledge before threatening to take her to court to take custody of Ava, four.

'So I just got ambushed by Tamra and her mom at my door. She recorded me without my knowledge which is illegal and now she is going to take me to court to get Ava taken away from me.' Sarah wrote in large text on the post which has been taken down.

It came after a very tense encounter between Sarah and Ryan, which he broadcast over Instagram Live, when he arrived at his ex's house to be confronted by two Orange County Sheriffs.

The situation appeared to be relatively calm as Sarah stayed in the house and Ryan explained to cops that he was just there to pick up his daughter as he usually does.

Sarah eventually emerged from the home to tell Ryan that Ava did not want to go with him.

In a selfie video he filmed in his car afterwards, Ryan explained: 'I have my daughter every single Wednesday until Thursday, pick her up again on Fridays and I drop her off on Sundays.

'It's been that way for years now, years. She wants to play the game because she's mad that I posted stuff about her. She's using my daughter as leverage. I would call that child abuse.'

'All I wanted to do was pick up my daughter on my day off like I always do. It didn't have to be this way, it's insane, it's crazy,'

Meanwhile, Sarah gave her side of the story and also posted a copy of the court order.

On Instagram stories she said: 'Alright, so I'm getting a ton of hate messages saying that I am holding Ava within contempt of court because of Ryan's live video of me calling the police, after he claimed he was going to kill himself, on the phone.

Sarah then explained that the court order states 'every other Friday at 2 o'clock' is when Ryan gets to see
