() The anniversary of 9/11 fell on Wednesday this year.

And celebrities were quick to take to social media to share tributes after the devastating terrorist attack brought down the World Trade Center as well as part of the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, causing nearly 3,000 people to die.

The first wave of messages came from Gigi Hadid, Kate Hudson, Mark Wahlberg, Kaley Cuoco, Snooki and Lisa Rinna.

Gigi Hadid was one of the first stars to make a 9/11 tribute on Wednesday.

Hadid - who dates Tyler Cameron of The Bachelorette fame - was last seen on Tuesday at the Spring/Summer 2020 Savage X Fenty show at the Barclays Center in NYC.

Padma Lakshmi of Top Chef shared a photo of Jon Stewart and addressed helping out the first responders. A month and a half after Stewart’s impassioned speech to Congress went viral, the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund reauthorization bill was passed by the Senate. The fund will help first responders pay for health care through 2092.
