The Kyle and Jackie O Show has topped the ratings, despite being embroiled in a scandal over host Kyle Sandilands' recent joke about the Virgin Mary.

The latest radio survey, which was conducted between August 18 and September 21, saw KIIS FM's Sydney breakfast show grow its audience by 0.6 per cent.

The program now has an audience share of 11.6 per cent.

However, the latest figures do not account for a possible listener boycott in the wake of Kyle's Virgin Mary joke, as the cut-off date was September 21.

Kyle's controversial comments were made on September 18 and did not attract the attention of the wider media until several days later.  

The shock jock had upset many loyal listeners by joking that the Virgin Mary wasn't actually a virgin and had instead been impregnated 'behind a camel shed'.
