At first, Sam is seen delightedly showing Paul the growth of her bottom lashes and admits she is happy with her development.

Sadly she is shot down when he reveals she is still picking at night, with Paul admitting he pushes her hand away from her face while she sleeps.

Camera crews then use night vision technology to film the star through the night, leading to heartbreaking scenes in which she subconsciously picks her lashes.

While Paul is initially on-hand to help her and push her hand away, once he had fallen asleep she resumes the hair pulling in her sleep.

Last week, Sam delved into the backstory of her compulsive eyelash-pulling condition as she finally sought hypnotherapy treatment.

The star was filmed at a session with a therapist, where she said: 'When I was a kid a family friend told me that if I pull out an eyelash it means I can make a wish,

'This was around the time my [step] dad went to prison. I was quite close to him. So I thought if I pull out my eyelashes and wished he would come home, it would be the only way he could come home from prison.'

Sam's upsetting recollections then led to her hypnotherapist going through a treatment with her, to help with the compulsive lash pulling.
