This month Robert Rodriguez teamed up with Estrella Jalisco to create A New Día, an truly unique art experience honoring Día de Muertos - Mexico’s Day Of The Dead celebration.

The pop-up art installation, which was hosted by Downtown LA’s Wisdome, invites visitors into the world of Muertos, taking them into four immersive, sensory-rich rooms each representing an aspect of the holiday’s magic.

Rodriguez - the director of From Dusk Till Dawn, Machete, Sin City and more - first teamed up with Estrella Jalisco last year when he invited people into his Austin, Texas studio for the celebration of life, what he called his ‘favorite time of year.’

Fueled by the spirit of innovation and a passion for Latin culture, Estrella Jalisco and Rodriguez decided to craft their second collaboration: A New Día.

The elements continue to take charge as you migrate to the fire of Light It Up. Candles guide you through a pond of light as you experience the transformative power of the flame.

For the final room, A New Día capture the essence of Día De Los Muertos in Connect With Magic’s delicate field of monarch butterflies. There visitors embrace the memory of our loved ones past, creating a sculpture of human connection by placing the name of a loved one on a butterfly and tying it onto one of the surrounding trees.

And of course, each room offers fabulous Estrella Jalisco libations, designed to perfectly complement the spirit of A New Día.
