Tim said Anna had been sent '30 pages of MC notes' ahead of Saturday morning.
'I didn't get to see her. You know what? I said to her, "I think it's best I leave you [to it]". She's got a hotel and I've got a place down here [in Melbourne],' he revealed.
Tim said that Anna, 33, agreed it would be best to remain by herself while preparing for her reporting gig.
Dedicated to the job: Tim explained how Anna had to read through '30 pages of MC notes' as a Channel Ten reporter on the day, and agreed she shouldn't be distracted
'She's like, "I just need to sit down, read my notes, and I don't want to distract you",' he recalled.
The Neighbours star went on to add that he will 'bounce around' between marquees at Derby Day, while Anna fulfills her media obligations.
Tim cut a dapper figure in a crisp white dress shirt, a tailored black suit jacket and trousers, lace-up shoes and a grey tie, as he arrived for race day via helicopter.
