And after wowing at the hit show's season three premiere, Olivia Colman and Helena Bonham Carter kept the celebratory spirit going as they headed to Annabel's private members' club in London's Mayfair on Wednesday night.

The show's first episode has received glowing reviews, with the Daily Mail's Christopher Stevens pointing to its marvellous recreation of a bygone era with a five star rating.

Olivia's performance, described as being incapable of being artificial, was certainly of the highest order at the after party too as she pulled out all the stops with her outfit.

The actress wore stunning pendant earrings which featured emerald green jewels and glittering diamonds.

Helena boosted her frame in a pair of diamond-encrusted ankle strap heels and toted an eccentric jewel-encrusted handbag.

The Queen and Prince Philip's relationship has moved into a suburban pattern after their four children together. At one point he winces as the monarch scrapes margarine over a dry triangle of toast with a repressed, rhythmic fury. It's like watching sitcom couple Terry and June the morning after a bad row.Olivia's performance as the Queen sees her affect a clipped upper-class accent but that does not disguise the fact that this most emotional of actresses is incapable of an artificial performance.
