Pete Evans has candidly spoken about using Iowaska last week, a plant from the Amazon traditionally used by shamans for healing. 

The 46-year-old My Kitchen Rules star opened up about his experience while speaking at the Manifest Australia event in Sydney on Saturday, which focuses on men's mental health. 

Pete said that the fears losing his mind and has done so all his life after suffering three 'big accidents on his head,' and even last week was scared to use Iowaska.

'I had a surfing accident when I was 14,' Pete began. 

'I was run over by a long board and it fractured my skull and I got 50 stitches in my head and going into the operation room, all I cared about was, I was asking the nurse all the way, "give me mathematics questions, give me arithmetic," he said. 

'I was so scared of losing my mind, losing the power of my brain. I thought I was pretty smart back then. Even this week going into the journeys, last week I should say. That's there, losing my mind.'
