Social media has become a key tool for all celebrities, including musicians, who want to promote their 'brand' and their new music.
But English pop star Dua Lipa has admitted she bucked the trend before she released her latest single, Don't Start Now, in October - deleting her entire Instagram account.
When asked on Australian radio show Fitzy & Wippa why she removed the posts, the British Beauty says it was a way to prove to herself that 'social media isn't real'.

'It was more for fun [deleting the posts],' the 23-year-old told the breakfast show co-host Ryan Fitzgerald.
'I'm starting like a new album, I wanted to start fresh, those memories are always going to be there. I live through them and I'll never forget them.'
