Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed the very awkward phone call behind the casting for her 2015 hit music video, I Really Like You.
The clip stars Oscar-winning superstar Tom Hanks, but the 34-year-old singer told The Project on Monday that it almost didn't go that way.
The Canadian pop princess revealed on the Australian talk show that she initially called Bill Murray to offer him the role - but it went very badly.
Call him maybe? Carly Rae Jepsen (pictured) appeared on The Project on Monday and revealed her very awkward phone conversation with Bill Murray
She said: 'My original go-to was Bill Murray. He has a hotline you can call and leave a message. I called Bill Murray's hotline and he answered, which I was not expecting!
'I was going to leave a message and instead I had a phone call with Bill Murray. It was awkward. Because I wasn't ready.
'I said, 'Hi, this is Carly Rae Jepsen. I'm a singer... of pop music.' It was the most embarrassing phone call!' she added.
Oh dear! Carly wanted to cast Bill in her 2015 hit music video, I Really Like You. 'He has a hotline you can call and leave a message. I called Bill Murray's hotline and he answered, which I was not expecting!' she laughed
