Coronation Street's Christmas storylines have finally been revealed, and it appears that a mystery character will be killed off in bloody scenes.

As Gary Windass' villainous tirade continues, he sparks a violent showdown with Derek Milligan at Weatherfield's Winter Wonderland, and as one character is caught in the crossfire they won't survive to see the New Year.

It is certainly set to be another festive season full of drama in the cobbles, as Rita Tanner suffers a close call after being left home alone for Christmas, and Michelle Connor packs her bags to say goodbye to the Street for good.

After confessing his involvement in the factory roof collapse, Gary (played by Mikey North) has emerged as Corrie's newest villain.

His rivalry with Derek (Craige Els) has already turned violent, but things will take an even darker turn in explosive scenes.

As the residents enjoy Weatherfield's answer to Winter Wonderland, Derek steals an antique rifle from Gary's furniture shop and chases him through the Street.

After terrifying the locals in the pub Derek chases Gary out onto the cobbles and the pair end up battling it out on the top of the Helter Skelter at the funfair.

Fists and bullets quickly start flying - with one unsuspecting resident getting caught in the crossfire.
