Mariah Carey's Twitter account was hacked on Wednesday.
'I take a freaking nap and this happens?' the musical artist, 49, said of the hacking hours after the public messages were first sent.
A series of uncharacteristic tweets began appearing on the singer's account began at 3:23 p.m. P.T., some of them mentioning rapper Eminem, who Carey has a storied past with, Variety reported.
The latest: Mariah Carey's Twitter account was hacked on Wednesday, as a prankster posted a series of tweets to the account of the 49-year-old singer. She was snapped in LA in October
Among the tweets posted included: 'Eminem can still hold this p****…' and one that read, 'Eminem has a little p****.'
Others posted pointed to other handles to follow, used the N-word or mentioned Chuckling Squad, a group linked to the August hacking of the social media site's CEO, Jack Dorsey.
The tweets were eventually removed from the Grammy-winning singer's account, which has more than 21.4 million followers.
Twitter officials told USA TODAY that a probe was launched into the hacking.

'As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we locked the compromised account and are currently investigating the situation,' the company said.
The past between the One Sweet Day songstress and Eminem was back in the headlines earlier this month when her ex-husband Nick Cannon, 39, and the Detroit rapper exchanged diss tracks rehashing their past problems.
Hacking aside, it's been a fantastic week for Mariah, who's mom to eight-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with Cannon, as the success of her holiday hit All I Want for Christmas Is You buoyed her to become the first-ever performer to score singles that hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list over four decades - the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
