Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian enjoyed a family day out to Auckland Zoo in New Zealand with daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. on Sunday.

Oracene Price, the professional tennis player's mother, joined them for the outing, as they explored the park while spending some quality time together.

The family observed the 1,400 animals at the park through a haze, after smoke from Australia's bushfire crisis had drifted across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand.

Former world no. 1 tennis player Serena, 38, kept a low-profile for the family day out.

She wrapped up warm in a large winter coat, and accessorised the stylish ensemble grey trousers, sneakers and a leopard print scarf.

The star looked fascinated by the 135 different species of animals at the park.

As they strolled around, Serena appeared to be educating daughter Alexis on the various animals they were observing.
