She vowed to sue producers of the film Hustlers in September.

And four months later, Samantha Barbash, who was the inspiration behind Jennifer Lopez's character in the film, followed through and sued the movie star's production company - Nuyorican Productions - for $40 million, according to TMZ.

The former stripper, 45, claims that they are using her story and likeness without permission as well as defaming her in the process, the outlet reported.

She is not suing Jennifer, just her production company; attorney Bruno Gioffre is representing her.

Samantha said she originally turned down the producers of the film for her consent but they went ahead and produced the film based on her life. 

TMZ reported that she says Jennifer's character Ramona is portrayed 'using and manufacturing illegal substances in her home where she lived with her child, which is both 'offensive and untrue.'

Samantha wants the producers to hand over all of the copies of the film, in addition to $20 million in punitive damages and $20 million in compensatory damages.

In September, her legal team send notice to the film's other production company - STX Entertainment - for using her likeness, biography, identity and personality in connection with the movie, according to TMZ.

She wanted STX to resolve 'the flagrant violations of her rights,' the outlet reported. 

In the letter, her team reminded the studio that she had 'unequivocally rejected all offers to be included in the films.'
