Karl Stefanovic slams Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to QUIT as ...

Karl Stefanovic slammed the idea that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can escape the spotlight by moving to Canada during a heated debate on Thursday's Today. 

As his co-host Allison Langdon and Nine correspondent Brett McLeod speculated that their decision to step back from public duty and live between the UK and North America may be to escape the press, Karl interrupted their discussion.   

'This is modern media and a modern landscape. Harry and Meghan going to Canada and [think] they won't have any cameras outside their place?' he began.

Karl continued: 'No-one will take photos out there, there's not going to be link trucks, and there's not going to be satellite dishes? This is just an absolute farce.'

Newsreader Tracey Vo looked physically shocked by Karl's outburst.

'Karl, I'm not quite sure how you feel?' laughed Allison, as she then returned to her interview with correspondent Brett and moved on from her co-host's remarks.

Later on during the show, Karl added: '[Prince Harry] has been supported by [the British public] financially for a long time. This is him spitting the dummy and going, "Righto, I am out of here". Does he think that the British people are going to like it?'

Prior to the outburst, Allison questioned if the British press were a part of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to split their time between UK and North America.

Brett said: 'It utilizes the royals very well and can be very tough on them. The difference is that Harry's mother [Princess Diana] knew how to play the game. She had friendly editors and knew how
