This comes just before he thanked the man for helping him through a bad patch earlier in his career when he was on stage in Hollywood.
The pop star, who is promoting his first album in five years, Changes, showed his vulnerable side as he opened up about his long-awaited new work. He cried onstage and said he doesn't think he 'should be alive' at an emotionally-charged preview of his new album.

The Yummy artist gave a speech at the event Thursday in Hollywood to launch his upcoming LP.
He opened up about his struggles over the past few years, which have included battling depression and being diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Speaking at Village Recorders, he admitted: 'I don't even think I should be alive, never mind thrive.'
The 25-year-old took the time to thank those closest to him for sticking by him and supporting his career, including his long-time manager Scooter Braun.
