The Crown season four: Olivia Coleman portrays a giddy Queen Elizabeth II

It was recently confirmed The Crown would run until the end of the fifth series.

And following the announcement, Olivia Coleman and Tobias Menzies were straight back to filming as they shot scenes at Hickstead show jumping ground on Saturday.

Olivia, who portrays Queen Elizabeth II in the drama, 46, appeared giddy with excitement as she watched the show from the Royal box alongside Tobias, 45.

The actress held up her hands in anticipation as she watched her daughter Princess Anne, played by Erin Doherty, compete in the competition.

She was clothed in her racing attire, as she donned a checked jacket layered with a navy coat and her signature silk scarf tied around her neck.

Olivia was also sporting the Queen's unmistakable perfectly-set hairstyle along with a pair of pearl earrings and leather gloves.

Meanwhile, Tobias wore a brown suede jacket layered over a navy jumper and a pale blue shirt with a tie, while donning a pair of binoculars around his neck.

The couple, who have attended countless horse meets over the years, appeared to be watching Princess Anne who was also pictured filming scenes.

Princess Anne became an icon of the equestrian world and has three European Championships under her belt, as well as the 1976 Montreal Olympics and the 1971 BBC Sports Personality of the Year title.

Also in attendance during filming was Prince Charles actor Josh O'Connor, who arrived on set and offered Olivia a sweet hug before resuming his position in the box.

While the scenes were filmed at Hickstead, historic images show Princess Anne competing during both the Badminton and Burghley horse trials.

One image in particular showed her horse Stevie B stumble after taking the 20th fence in the Cross Country section of the Burghley trials at Stamford.

It is currently unclear whether the scenes being shot at Hickford will mimic either of the events attended by the Royals.
