She's been busy shooting series four of hit show The Crown and her return as Princess Margaret.

But on Monday Helena Bonham Carter ditched her regal costumes in favour of her signature eccentric style for a stroll around her North London neighbourhood.

The acclaimed actress ran errands in a layered look of a black velvet coat and lace-trimmed skirt.

Helena, 53, layered her elegant jacket over her black skirt and a cosy grey jumper.

She kept comfortable in a pair of chunky trainers and black and white check socks and accessorised with a bright blue striped scarf.

The a-list actress slung a bag bulging with her belongings over her shoulder as she headed to a number of shops near her home.  

Last month Helena was in Winchester shooting her latest scenes for her hit show The Crown.

The actress, who took over the role of Princess Margaret from Vanessa Kirby in series three, was spotted strolling around set with Olivia Colman, who stars as the Queen, as they shot scenes at Winchester Cathedral.
