Michelle Bridges, 49, announced her separation from partner Steve 'Commando' Willis, 43, last month.

And on Monday, the celebrity trainer referenced the delights of 'family' while on a mini Sydney adventure with their four-year-old son, Axel. 

Pictured only with the couples' boy, Michelle appeared to enjoy an active day out without his father Commando in tow.

'Training outdoors with your family is the BEST,' Michelle captioned a gallery of photos in her signature activewear look.

'Carrying a 22kg weight pack up a mountain of stairs was [challenging],' she joked, as one photo showed Axel being piggybacked up a stoned staircase.

Michelle's son clung tight to his mother's back and later held her hand sweetly as they continued their hike. 

One day earlier, Michelle spent the afternoon at the beach with Axel, as she shared a photo taking the child to the shoreline with a bucket in hand.
