They sent fans into meltdown when they were snapped together on the Caribbean island of Anguilla in January.

And Harry Styles has addressed those Adele collaboration rumours and discussed the pressures of dating while in the public eye during a candid interview on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show on Monday.

The Falling singer, 26, ruled out a romance with newly-single Adele, 31, who split from husband Simon Konecki last year.

On the rumours, he said: 'I feel like that's just any time two musicians hang out. 

'Either they're dating or they're recording together.'

Discussing his dating life, the former One Direction star - whose exes include Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift and Cara Delevingne, said it was hard for someone of his level of fame to have a 'normal romance.'        

He said: 'It's always kind of a balance thing, because you want to date normally but then, you also want to protect it so it can be normal.

'I think a big part of it is like, you wanna be able to spend enough time with each other where you can get to know each other before you have to deal with the extra stuff.'

The star said he was not on any dating apps at the moment but that he did see marriage in his future. 

He said:  'I'd like to be [married]. It's definitely what I would like to do.'

In the same interview Harry jokingly suggested he'd have likely not been robbed at knifepoint on Valentine's Day if he wasn't single and had romantic plans that evening. 

The musician had cash stolen from him last month when he was mugged on the way home from a friends house in north London, and he has now opened up on the terrifying details of the ordeal, which saw him threatened with a knife.

In a bid to escape the muggers, Harry dashed in front of a moving car in the hope that they would let him in and take him to safety, but when they didn't he took the opportunity to dash back towards his village.  

He said: 'Yes, I was robbed on Valentine's Day. That's what you get for being single these days! I should have had other plans.' 

Sharing details of the ordeal, he continued: 'I was walking home from a friend's house. I'm five minutes from home, and I kind of see this group of guys who all got their hoods up and their faces covered and stuff and I was like, that's a bit weird.
