She's the uber-talented star of contemporary classics such as American and The American President. 

And Annette Bening lent her considerable star power to the proceedings at the Walk of Fame induction ceremony for her friend, radio veteran Susan Stamberg on Tuesday.

Bening, 61, wore a smart-looking black double-breasted pinstripe blazer for the daytime event in , California, worn open over a cream silk blouse with a knot at the neck.

The Grifters star, who herself received a star on the Walk of Fame in 2006, paired the jacket with navy trousers, and tan leather loafers.

Annette kept her hair short as usual, and wore small hoops in her ears.

The four-time Academy Award-nominated actress completed her look with a pair of dainty rose-colored wayfarer sunglasses.  

Stamberg, 81, wore a lovely lime green pantsuit to the event in her honor.
