'Keeping people safe is the most important thing,' Schwarzenegger, 72, said Tuesday via telephone as Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the restrictions at a press conference.

The 32nd annual Arnold Sports Festival will open Thursday in Columbus, Ohio, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center with restrictions in place.

The annual event was expected to attract about 22,000 body builders, martial artists and other athletes from more than 80 countries set to compete at the convention center, the Ohio Expo Center and other venues in central Ohio.
