YNW Melly is begging to be released from prison in Florida as he claims that he is dying following testing positive for COVID-19 ahead of his double murder trial.

The 20-year-old rapper's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, filed legal documents claiming that his client was on the verge of dying according to TMZ on Monday.

The report states Melly's symptoms include severe chills, heavy labored breathing, headaches, and body aches and that his client weighs 114 pounds and has not been monitored by medical personnel as they have been mandated to.

He also alleges that the rapper is sharing a cell with another inmate who has coronavirus and there's fear 'if the virus can be mutated or passed reoccurring between individuals.'

Cohen goes on to claim that there is a lack of preparedness by the jail for the epidemic stating: 'They have not given them masks, or cleaning supplies that would be beneficial regarding his recovery. This is against all recommendations of the Surgeon General and CDC.'

Last week the rapper revealed he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to a statement on the Instagram page of the Murder on My Mind rapper, he was seeking an early release amid a jail atmosphere he said isn't equipped to deal with the deadly pandemic.

'Melly has tested positive for COVID-19 today while awaiting his trial in Broward County Jail,' the statement read. 'He’ll be filing a motion for restricted release in hopes of better care due to any jails not being prepared to treat this new virus.
