Arnold Schwarzenegger was in good company as he worked out at his Los Angeles home on Thursday afternoon.

The actor and former professional bodybuilder, 72, appeared to be in great shape while putting himself through his paces on a series of assisted weight machines.

But he was distracted by inquisitive pet donkey Lulu,  who curiously sniffed at Schwarzenegger as he performed lat pull-downs and bent-over calf raises - coincidentally referred to by gym-goers as 'donkey raises.'

Schwarzenegger has set up an enormous, state-of-the-art fitness studio inside his Los Angeles home, thus giving himself the opportunity to continue weight training while the city remains in lockdown.

And the abundance of space gave Lulu a chance to accompany her owner without distracting him as he made his way from one machine to another.

The actor, who has been vocal about social distancing, remains in quarantine with the cute donkey, miniature horse Whiskey and girlfriend Heather Milligan as Los Angeles maintains strict policies in the fight against the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
