TV Choice Awards 2020: Killing Eve's Jodie Comer, Peaky Blinders and Coronation ...

Killing Eve star Jodie Comer scooped Best Actress for the second year in a row as she led the winners at the 2020 TV Choice Awards on Monday night.

The actress led the stars accepting their prizes during the first ever virtual ceremony, which was streamed for fans online.

It was a night of success for Coronation Street who swept the soap categories, while Peaky Blinders received the coveted Best Drama Series.

Jodie Comer beat out fierce competition from Vera's Brenda Blethyn, Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Our Girl's Michelle Keegan thanks to her role as the ruthless assassin Villanelle.

Killing Eve has already been renewed for its fourth series, though it remains to be seen when filming will begin due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Liverpudlian star accepted the award for Best Actress, saying: 'I just wanted to pop in and say a huge thank you to everybody who voted for me this year. Thank you! Your continued support means so much, and I want you all to know that it doesn't go unnoticed.

'I hope that we can bring you the season four you deserve sooner rather than later, but it will be worth the wait. In the meantime take care and thank you very much.'

Doc Martin star Martin Clunes scooped the Best Actor award, mere hours after it was announced the ITV series will end in 2021. 

He beat out David Tennant (Deadwater Fell), Stephen McGann (Call The Midwife) and Paul Mescal (Normal People).

Accepting the award, Martin said: 'Thank you so so much for this amazing award. I'm so glad that you still like this show after nine series!

'You obviously like it enough to vote for me because there was some classy competition this year in the actors category. We're blown away. It's a family business and we love making it, down in Cornwall.

There are so many people to thank, so many writers, such an amazing cast. But the most important person is my amazing wife who has produced every single script of nine series.

'And I am allowed to tell you there will be a tenth series. We are going to make that next year, Covid or not!' 

Elsewhere Peaky Blinders won the coveted award for Best Drama Series, beating out Killing Eve, Our Girl and Sex Education.

Paul Anderson thanked the crew and fans for the award, saying: 'It means alot because it's voted for by you guys [the viewers]...

'And shows me that Peaky Blinders fans are without a doubt number one. It's an honour and I'm very humbled and appreciative of this award.'

Call The Midwife received Best Family Drama, with star of the show Stephen McGann appearing on set to accept the award, before throwing to his co-stars.

Jenny Agutter, Leonie Elliott, Fenella Woolgar, Annabelle Apsion and Cliff Parisi all sent in video messages from home, thanking fans for supporting the show.  

Best New Drama was awarded to White House Farm, a surprise victory over nominees Gangs Of London, Gentleman Jack and Normal People. 

In a video message on behalf of White House Farm, actor Freddie Fox said: 'It's a delightful affirmation of the work done on the show, especially given the amazing competition.'

While This Morning once again received the award for Best Daytime, it was Alison Hammond who accepted the award in her typically hilarious style.

She told Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and everyone involved in the ITV show: 'Really and truly - this [award] belongs to me, everyone!' 

Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad was awarded Best Factual Show, after the due warmed viewers hearts with their daredevil road trip.

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway was awarded Best Entertainment Show despite being thrown in disarray by the COVID-19 lockdown.

The duo accepted the accolade together, but fought over who would get to keep the physical award, with Dec claiming it for himself.

It was a night of success for the presenting duo, as they also won Best Reality Show for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 

Reigning Queen of The Jungle, Jacqueline Jossa accepted the award along with Roman Kemp and Andy Whyment. 

Roman said: 'We went through the weirdest time ever together. Jacqueline has agreed I can keep the award,' but Jac insisted: 'I will be keeping it for the foreseeable - winner's perks!'

Following news that the series will be returning for series three, Gordon, Gino and Fred: American Road Trip were awarded Best Food Show.

Gordon Ramsay was first up to thank fans for voting for the TV show, joking that: 'Without your support, Gino and Fred would not be employed.'

The foul-mouthed chef also added that when they are able to return to filming, hopefully: 'Fred will stop wearing those budgie smugglers and Gino will have learned how to drive!' before signing off by saying: 'F**cking thank you!'
