The Witcher's Mimi Ndiweni and Mecia Simson film scenes for the second series ...

It resumed production for the second series in August after the coronavirus pandemic halted filming.

And some of the cast of The Witcher were back at work as they filmed outdoor scenes at Fountain Abbey in Ripon on Wednesday.

Mimi Ndiweni, who plays Fringilla Vigo, was seen filming a scene with Mecia Simson, who plays Francesca, a new character to the show.

Mecia's character appears to be pregnant in the second series as she sported a visible bump while walking along a lake.

The actress, who won the fifth series of Britain's Next Top Model, donned a blue dress with a gold print and a dark robe for the scene.

She also sported large elf ears while her brunette locks were styled into braids. 

Mimi donned a silver dress with a star print along with a flowing coat that featured a high, regal collar.

The pair were seen chatting with crew members, who were all wearing masks to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines, during takes. 

Also taking part in filming was Eamon Farren, who plays Cahir, who wore black and gold armour for the shoot.    

Stephen Surjik, who directed two episodes in its first season, said the cast and crew are having to maintain social distance on set amid the new restrictions.

The show was able to resume filming even earlier than had originally indicated in June.
