Vanessa Bryant suffered a tragic loss last year with the death of her husband and daughter.

But the widow of Kobe Bryant has had a phenomenal support system of family and friends getting her through it.

She palled around with Mary J Blige in some black-and-white throwback photos she posted Monday to https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ7rF1iD2bM/, wishing the nine-time Grammy winner a happy 50th birthday.

The 38-year-old was all smiles in the photos, which she captioned: 'Happy birthday!!!! Love you! (tb pic for the people that need this note....)'

She and the Strength of a Woman artist made some silly faces as they posed in a photo booth at Night of Sisterhood, benefitting American Cancer Society, back in October of 2018. 

Mary has been friends with both Vanessa and Kobe for sometime, hanging out together at the 2018 Academy Awards, where she was nominated and Kobe won Best Animated Short Film for Dear Basketball.
