Actress turned physician Jessica Campbell died at the age of 38 in late December just moments after seeing patients, according to the woman's family.
The actress, who is best known for co-starring with Reese Witherspoon in the indie hit 1999 film Election, was complaining of congestion before passing out in a bathroom, her family told TMZ on Wednesday.
It is currently unknown what caused Campbell's death but COVID-19 is suspected. The results of an autopsy by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner have not yet been shared by her family.
Shortly after news of her death broke, Reese posted on social media: 'So heart broken to hear this. Working with Jessica on Election was such a pleasure. I’m sending all my love to Jessica‘s family and loved ones.'

Jessica was so funny and an amazing, thoughtful actress. What a terrible loss.'
The Oklahoma native leaves behind a 10-year-old son Oliver and her husband of 11 years, Daniel.
Jessica was in Portland, Oregon at the time of her death.
Campbell was visiting her mother and aunt when she went into the bathroom and never came out, her cousin Sarah Wessling told the site.
