Scarlett Moffatt seen after 'her mother stole £50k from her account'

Scarlett Moffatt was seen for the first time since it was reported her mother Betty stole £50,000 from her bank account to fund her gambling habit.

The television personality, 30, cut a casual figure as she headed out for a solo stroll in County Durham on Tuesday.

Scarlett failed to raise a smile on her walk and seemed preoccupied with her phone.

Scarlett kept warm in a grey slogan sweatshirt which she teamed with a burgundy scarf.

She paired the cosy jumper with black joggers and white trainers.

Despite her laid-back ensemble and make-up free visage, Scarlett's raven locks were styled in glamorous waves.

The outing comes after it was reported Scarlett is helping her mother, Betty, get therapy after her online gambling habit 'spiralled out of control' during lockdown.

According to reports, which emerged earlier this month, the Gogglebox star was left 'betrayed and confused' after her mother allegedly took 'tens of thousands of pounds' from her account.

Betty, who has been working for Scarlett since her 2016 I'm A Celebrity win, is said to have become 'desperate and panicky' after losing 'thousands every week' from her online gambling habit.

And in 'sheer desperation', Betty allegedly took 'tens of thousands of pounds' from Scarlett's account with the hopes of winning it back.

Yet when Betty reportedly never won the cash back, Scarlett was left 'horrified' to discover her account was missing money.
