BBC One has released a tense first trailer for Vigil, the new thriller series brought to viewers from the creators of gripping crime drama Line Of Duty.

The six-part series follows the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on-board the submarine HMS Vigil bring the police into conflict with the Navy and British security services.

DCI Amy Silva (Jones) and DS Kirsten Longacre (Leslie) then lead an investigation on land and at sea into a conspiracy that goes to the very heart of Britain’s national security.
The trailer begins with the news that a royal navy sailor has been found dead, with Suranne flown out to the vessel after being asked by another police officer, played by Lolita Chakrabarti, how she is in 'confined spaces'.
While Suranne prepares to board the ship, Scotman Martin chillingly speaks to the camera, and said: 'There's 20 different ways you could kill Vigil's crew single handedly'.
