Tom Parker has said he refuses to 'feel sorry for himself' as he bravely battles a terminal brain tumour.

The Wanted star, 32, who was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma in September 2020, took to his Instagram Story on Sunday to give his fans an update on his state of mind.

He said that although he has times of 'overwhelming sadness', he doesn't find strength in sadness and is determined to keep his 'head held high'.

He wrote: 'If you think I'm just sat at home feeling sorry for myself... I will not do that! 

'Don't get me wrong I could easily do that. There's times of overwhelming sadness but I don't find strength in sadness.

'It's a terrible situation but I'm moving forward with my head held high.

'Thank you all for the love an support I'll give you an update later about how treatment is going' (sic).

Tom's update on his positive mindset comes as he continues to battle a terminal brain tumour after being diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma last year.

He is currently receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy and has confirmed that he is 'responding well' to treatment and his tumour has shrunk 'significantly'.

He recently spoke of his sadness at learning of the death of Ashley Cain's eight-month-old daughter Azaylia, following her courageous battle with leukaemia.
