The 66-year-old radio king, who appears in this month's issue of Men's Health magazine, spoke openly about his lifestyle shift.

'I was embarrassed,' Ray recalled of first time stepping on the scales last September.

'The way I was going I probably wouldn't had made 70,' he added.  

Ray's weight had been escalating for quite some time after rarely doing any exercise and not watching his diet.

The radio king would regularly eat a full English breakfast, nearly an entire loaf of bread; and when eating out would order three courses.   

'Guys my age. From the age of 50 or 60 - I'm 66 now - you just give up a bit, I suppose,' the popular broadcaster admitted.
