Ade Edmondson accidentally trapped himself on a ledge while cleaning his windows on Sunday.

The actor, 64, appeared animated as he emerged on the top of a building, before he sought help from the London Fire Brigade.

Detailing his funny mishap, the comedian wrote on Twitter: 'Just trapped myself on a window ledge whilst cleaning the windows. Had to ask passerby to fetch help.

The funnyman pleaded for assistance from passerby Duncan Cumming, 46, who called the city's fire and rescue service. 

The thespian is best known for his roles in The Supergrass, Bottom and Jonathan Creek and also leads folk punk band The Bad Shepherds.
