As production continues on The Bachelor, the competition for who will be Australia's next Bachelorette is heating up.

The top candidates for the role are former Bachelor star Renee Barrett, singer Paulini Curuenavuli and podcast host Abbie Chatfield, according to Sportsbet odds.

Renee, 29, who was left heartbroken on last year's season of Bachelor in Paradise, is the front-runner with short odds of $2.50.

Paulini, 38, who expressed interest in being the Bachelorette on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! earlier this year, has odds of $2.75.

Abbie Chatfield, 25, rounds out the top three with odds of $3.50.

However, Abbie has stated that she would probably turn down any offer because she would like the next Bachelorette to be a woman of colour.
