But Paris Hilton has proved that the only thing actually poor about that image was the photoshop.

The 40-year-old socialite took to her TikTok on Monday night to share a video of herself debunking the 'myth' of the viral image.

She recorded a selfie video with the photo in question superimposed in the background and began by saying: 'So there is this photo online of me, I'm sure you've seen it.'

Paris was hoping to end all misconceptions about the image which has been on the internet for nearly a decade as she said: 'I never wore that shirt.

'This was completely Photoshopped, everyone thinks it’s real but that’s not the truth.'

The background then was changed to an image of Paris and Kimberly Stewart wearing the matching top during a party at the Palms Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas back in April 2005.

The photo revealed that Paris was actually wearing a shirt which read: 'STOP BEING DESPERATE.' 

She then punctuated her point with a smile as she ended the video by saying: 'Don't believe everything you read.'
