Pink will receive the ICON Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards

Pink will receive the ICON Award at the 2021 Billboard Awards, becoming the ninth artist in history to receive the honor.

NBC and dick clark productions made the announcement in a press statement on Tuesday and also revealed that the three-time BBMA winner, 41, will perform at the ceremony on May 23.    

'As a little girl, I always dreamed about being a singer and sharing my love of music with the world,' Pink said in the statement. 'Years later, to receive the Billboard Music Awards Icon Award is hard to fathom!'

Hosted by Nick Jonas, the 2021 BBMAs will broadcast live from Microsoft Theater at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC. Held annually since 1990, the show honors the top-charting artists, tracks and albums of the year.

The prestigious ICON Award is bestowed on record-breaking artists for their impact on music.
