Alexandra Burke is reportedly set to star as Tina Turner in an upcoming big-budget movie based on the Proud Mary hitmaker's life.

The singer, 32, will transform into Tina in the BBC and BFI production that is set to be released next year.

An inside source told The Sun: 'In the film she plays a young musician trying to land her big break just like Tina and will sing some of her most iconic songs. To say Alex is excited is an understatement.'

The big break onto the big screen comes after Alexandra previously starred in West End productions of Chicago and The Bodyguard.

Speaking of the opportunity, the insider continued: 'Alex has got the voice and she showed what a great actor she is as a leading West End actress for the past seven years.

'She’s really committed to the role and bought herself a Peloton during lockdown so she could get fit at home. It means she’ll have Tina’s iconic legs too.'

Peloton exercise bikes cost £2000 and Alexandra has been working hard with at-home spinning classes to emulate the Whats Love Got To Do With It singer's figure.

MailOnline has contacted Alexandra's representatives for comment.
