'Twelve months ago during a global pandemic he was a famous pop star. A few days ago he swam 52 in the 100 fly LCM and made the Australian Olympic trials final, he said.
Reflecting on Cody's admirable effort, Brett went on to say it's important to remember your goals are always within reach.
'If you didn't reach your goals over the last year it's because you chose not to. It's so frustrating to hear people make excuses. Life is tough. Nothing will change that,' he said.
