Andi Peters detailed his experiences with racial abuse on Thursday, including recalling the fact he has been followed in shops because of his skin colour.

The television presenter, 50, spoke to Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain about how he had been followed and profiled racially.

The revelations followed an earlier interview on the show with cricketer Michael Holding, who described the idea of races feeling inferior to others as 'b******s'.

Ben was forced to apologise to the viewers for Michael's language but assured that everyone understood the sentiment behind it.

In the cricketer's defence, Andi admitted: 'What he said about being followed in shops and supermarkets because of the colour of your skin, that really exists.

'Someone thinks I'm gonna nick their Wispa bar, I'm not. I'm gonna pay for it like everyone else. It's extraordinary.'

Andi also said hearing Michael talk so openly about his experiences with racial profiling was 'refreshing', as he said: 'It meant a lot to me'.
