The 36-year-old Oscar-winning director - who graduated from Harvard University - previously helmed the films First Man (2018), La La Land (2016), and Whiplash (2014).
Also landing acting parts were Oscar-winning screenwriter Spike Jonze and former Spider-Man Tobey Maguire, who already signed on as executive producer - according to THR.
And Australian beauty Phoebe Tonkin - last seen in Stan series Bloom - also scored a role in the flick
