Robin Wright avoids question on staying friends with exes

Robin Wright admitted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week that she is iffy on being amicable with her exes. 

Guest host Chelsea Handler was playing a game on the show where she listed actions and Robin would have to hold up a sign saying: 'So Wrong,' or: 'So Wright.'

The two phrases were on opposite sides of the same sign so when Chelsea said: 'Staying friends with your ex,' Robin flipped back and forth between both sides.

'Ugh, depends on the...' said Robin before trailing off, and then eventually pointed the edge of the sign at the screen so that neither side was facing it.  

Meanwhile Chelsea unequivocally supported being friendly with exes, while DJ Twitch who is a mainstay on the show agreed with Robin.

Robin's first husband was actor Dane Witherspoon and she is currently married to French fashion executive Clement Giraudet whom she wed in 2018.

However her most famous marriage was her second one to Sean Penn, 60, who last year tied the knot with actress Leila George, 29.

Leila's parents are both also in the acting profession - her mother Greta Scacchi is Sean's age and her father Vincent D'Onofrio is just one year older. 

Robin and Sean were married from 1996 until 2010 and share two children who are right around Leila's age - daughter Dylan, 30, and son Hopper, 27.

Their relationship was infamously turbulent with multiple breakups and reconciliations before they finally split for good.

'Divorce in and of itself, and with children, is devastating,' the Forrest Gump actress told Us Weekly years after the marriage ended.
